Jamaica: Bob Marley “War / Stop the Troubles”
Comment by the authors of the clip, the “Playing for Change” team:
“When we traveled the world, we were faced with love and hate. We have met both rich and poor, black and white people, and countless religious groups and ideologies. During our journey, it became completely clear that as humanity we need to rise from darkness to light, and this music will be our weapon of the future.
This video from our album Songs Around the World (“Songs of the World”) shows musicians who have seen and overcome enmity and hatred with love and perseverance. “We no longer need trouble, all we need is love.” The spirit of Bob Marley always lives! ”
This is not the only song dedicated to the theme “No war”, and even in 1978, Bob Marley gave a political concert designed to prevent the civil war in Jamaica – “One Love Peace Concert”. At the end of this speech, at the request of Marley, the leaders of the opposing parties took the stage and shook hands.
